SERVING TABLE

The focus of the project was to design and make a piece of furniture that used most if not all of the machines available in the metal shop as well as including one other material element that was not metal. The final result was a serving table consisting of bent flat steel bar circles with flat bar tabs welded to steel tubed legs, that were capped using turned brass caps that had custom handmade screw threads added to their stems in order for them to be attached. For the second material, two CNC cut wooden plates made out of Guanacaste were added for both the table top to place a thermos or water bottle and cup. and a second shelf in the bottom for extra storage.
El objetivo del proyecto era diseñar y fabricar un mueble que utilizara la mayoría, si no todas, las máquinas disponibles en el taller de metal, además de incluir otro elemento de material que no fuera metal. El resultado final fue una mesa de servicio que consiste en círculos de barras de acero planas dobladas con lengüetas de barras planas soldadas a patas de tubos de acero, que se taparon con tapas de latón torneadas a las que se les agregaron roscas de tornillo hechas a mano a medida para unirlas. Para el segundo material se agregaron dos planchas de madera de Parota cortadas con CNC tanto para la tapa de la mesa para poder colocar un termo o botella de agua y una taza o vaso. y un segundo estante en la parte inferior para almacenamiento adicional.
