BioDesk: Bringing Nature To Work

The focus of the project was to design and make a model of a piece of furniture that explores the trending Plant Love Movement, and finds a functional way to include house plants into a home or office space, while focusing on the benefits of this growing practice.  The final result was a office desk, with two half-spheres on the ends that serve as flowerpots, and can vary in materials, from metal to ceramic, or even plastic. Called the Bio Desk, it was designed with the intention of bringing nature to work, based on the house plant movement's benefits focused on the psychological and health benefits of being surrounded by nature while working or being in a work environment.
El enfoque del proyecto fue diseñar y hacer un modelo de un mueble que explore el movimiento Plant Love, que está de moda, y encontrar una forma funcional de incluir plantas en un hogar u oficina, enfocandonos en los beneficios de esta creciente práctica. El resultado final fue un escritorio de oficina, con dos semiesferas en los extremos que sirven como maceteros, y que puede variar en materiales, desde metal hasta cerámica, o incluso plástico. Denominado Bio Desk, fue diseñado con la intención de acercar la naturaleza al trabajo, basado en los beneficios del movimiento enfocandome en los beneficios psicológicos y de salud de estar rodeado de naturaleza mientras se trabaja o se está en un ambiente de trabajo.
